Britt's Night of a 1000 Stars is Cut Short

We headed north last night for our annual trip to the Hancock County Speedway at Britt but Mother Nature cut our night short. We were hoping that the "green blob" just entering northwest Iowa that we saw on radar, would move much slower than it did. It wasn't to be, as the raindrops began and they wouldn't stop. The show was cancelled for the night with the A feature for the modifieds as well as stock cars, yet to be run. Below are some unofficial results for heats, B's, and the Dwarf/Mod Lite feature.

After the Dwarf/Mod-Lite feature, the modifieds were brought to the track...as rain continued to fall. It was a futile attempt to try and save the track as the cars continued to pack, and eventually, the call was made that the show was cancelled. It was announced that the show will be completed next Thursday night, August 13th and hobby stocks and B Mods will be added to the program. Ticket stubs/pit bands will be honored.

We always enjoy The Night of 1000 Stars, and with the lineup, it was set to be a good one! Looks like everyone will have to wait for one more week.

Happy racing!
